The president of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke, publicly attacked his former protégé Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But the Gabonese footballer did not let him get away with it, and had no hesitation in straightening Watzke out on Twitter. It's a real highlight.
The love story between Borussia Dortmund and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is definitely over. With 7 goals in 7 games, the Gabonese footballer started his season the same way he finished it, in other words, on top of his game. In view of the performance of his former player, the president of BVB expressed his resentment with a vicious provocation in the columns of German newspaper Suddeustche Zeitung:
'Some people go to clubs for money. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who plays very well at Arsenal, is probably happy when he looks at his bank account. But on Wednesdays, he often watches the Champions League on television.'
The former Saint-Etienne player reacted immediately by severely pulling the German leader back into line on Twitter with a heated message: 'It is better if you never talk about why I left Dortmund Mr. Watzke. You are a clown.'
To round off the debate, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang laid it on thick. He reminded Hans-Joachim Watzke that he has no lessons to learn from him, mentioning, in particular, his taste for money in the Ousmane Dembélé case with Borussia:
'I remember the day you said you would never sell Ousmane and when you saw the 100M€ (£90 million), you were the first to take the money. Please don't talk about money. Leave me alone! Thank you.'
One thing's for sure, they won't be spending their holidays together!
