As usual when his club plays at home, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha left King Power Stadium aboard his helicopter, which carried the club’s colours. Unfortunately, a technical problem that is still under review caused the helicopter to crash. The helicopter carried a pilot, a co-pilot, and 3 passengers, including the president of the English club.

While it is needless to say that all of England is in mourning after this tragedy, the worst was certainly avoided, thanks to the courage of a pilot who knew the technical failure would lead to a fatal outcome. As a last resort, Eric Swaffer, whose co-pilot was none other than his wife, deviated the vehicle’s trajectory so that the crash would take place in an empty car park, as he was heading towards a populated area, which was still crowded with fans who had just left the stadium.

Eric Swaffer has probably saved many lives thanks to this heroic action.

Meanwhile, the entire English football world, along with Leicester City Football Club, is paying tribute to this pilot’s courage and Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s immense success. The Thai billionaire had managed to get Leicester back into the Premier League, and later become English football champions. This will remain one of the greatest achievements in the history of team sports.
