At only 23 years old, Joshua Kimmich is known for his position in football. It has to be said that this young German can do absolutely everything. Physically solid, he is as good in defense as he is going forward. Technically, it seems that he could play in practically any position in the majority of the top teams in Europe. As a kid, he played right back, which is probably the most difficult position in modern football, and definitely the position that causes a lot of selection problems for both club and country.

Statistically this season, he smashed the competition. In all of these games, Kimmich racked up a total of 22 goals and assists; considerably more than his teammates. Far behind is Jordi Alba with 14 goals and Marcelo and Dani Alves with 13.

In terms of national selection, it wouldn't have been difficult for the Bavarian player to replace Schalke full-back, Benedikt Howedes as the first name on the team sheet. Throughout the season, Kimmich has shown time and time again why he deserves a prominent place in the German starting line up this summer.

With rumours circulating his departure from Bayern this summer, his contract with the German champions is up in 2020. This player is certainly one to watch for this years World Cup.
