Cristiano Ronaldo Tests Positive for COVID-19

Portugal has confirmed that famous player Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for coronavirus despite showing no symptoms.

Cristiano Ronaldo has played his country’s last two games but will sadly be bumped from the team, at least for now, while he undergoes isolation.

So far, the Juventus forward has played with Portugal against Spain last Wednesday and again against France in the Nations League on Sunday. Both games finished without a single goal and now Ronaldo is out of the match for Portugal’s game against Sweden on the 14th of October.

This comes after Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for COVID-19 despite showing no symptoms.

The star player will now have to spend some time in self-isolation before he is able to rejoin the Juventus squad for the rest of the season.

Just last night Ronaldo uploaded a selfie to social media of himself and the team all sporting huge grins. After Sunday’s match, he was also spotted hugging France players Kylian Mbappe and Raphael Varane.

Luckily, the rest of the Portugal team have been tested for the virus again and have come up negative, meaning they will be going forward with the match against Sweden. Portugal released a statement:

Cristiano Ronaldo was released from the work of the National Team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden. The Portuguese international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation. Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this Tuesday morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in Cidade do Futebol.

We hope Ronaldo recovers soon!
