The Brazilian international, donning the famous number ten jersey, came close to scoring, hitting the woodwork twice. During post-match interviews, he announced that contract talks between him and the club should be resolved soon.

Committing to Paris

Neymar will sign a new deal that will keep him at PSG until June 2026, with a huge bonus if they win the Champions League, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking to TNT Sports Brasil, as translated by Romano, Neymar said:

The contract extension with PSG is no longer a topic! Obviously, I feel very comfortable and like at home here. I feel happier than before.

Nasser Al Khelaifi, the president of PSG, said to Sky Italy:

Neymar contract? I think Neymar will stay here at PSG for a long time.

The president, in another interview with RMC Sport, added that Neymar as well as young French star Kylian Mbappé have no reason to leave the club because of how much investment they’ve made.

Last night was a rematch of the Champions League final last season which Bayern won 1-0. This is the second year in a row that PSG has qualified for the semi-finals of the competition.

Since joining the club from Barcelona in 2017, Neymar has scored 83 goals and assisted another 49 in 107 appearances.
