Here Are 5 Tips For The Perfect Homemade Pizza

Do you feel like making a delicious homemade pizza? Here are 5 tips to make it a success!

Do you feel like making a delicious homemade pizza? It's a great idea! Not only can you personalise your pizza to your taste, but it will cost you less than a store-bought or restaurant pizza. It will taste just as good or even better.

But making a good homemade pizza is not something you can improvise. There are some very simple principles to apply to make your recipe work. Here are some of them.

A long resting time

To have a beautiful light, puffy and crispy pizza dough, it is important to let the dough rest. Once you've mixed the flour, salt, yeast, water and oil, just let it rise in a bowl under a damp cloth for at least 2 hours. You can even make the dough the day before or in the morning if you are going to eat the pizza in the evening.

A perforated baking rack

To bake your pizza and keep it crispy underneath, it may be a good idea to invest in a perforated rack. The baking will be close to that of a pizza oven.

Wholemeal flour

To bring a 'rustic' side to your pizza, you can remove 50g of wheat flour and add 50g of wholemeal flour instead. This detail will make all the difference.

Accelerated rising

If you don't have time to let your dough rise, you can put it in your oven between 30 and 50°C for 1 hour while covering it with a damp cloth. The rising period will be accelerated and your dough will be perfect.

Good ingredients

This won't come as a surprise: to have a good pizza, you have to use good ingredients. And contrary to popular belief, it doesn't cost much more than it does in supermarkets. Just take all the ingredients in the exact quantity you need some delicious ham, good parmesan cheese, homemade tomato sauce or good quality tomato sauce.

Now it's up to you!
