13 time WWE Champion John Cena considers himself a gym purist. Just by looking at the guy, we can assume that he knows a thing or two about how to properly work out. Here are his five commandments.
1. Demand effort
You may not be training for the Olympics, but you should be training to make yourself a better individual. You’re not there to socialise; you’re there to get work done.
2. Be humble enough to admit when you don’t know what you’re doing
Don’t be too proud to ask for help–that’s how you injure yourself. There’s no harm in asking for help, and there’s no shortage on people willing to give you the proper training.
3. Eat right
Nutrition is paramount to actual athletic activity.
Food is the fuel for the machines that are our bodies. Don’t forget that the next time you consider putting rubbish into the fuel tank.
4. Stay consistent
Training is simple; it’s the consistency of your workouts, gym attendance, and proper diet regime that’s a little more complicated.
5. Understand gym etiquette
Every gym is different, it’s up to you to adapt to your surroundings. Learn the rules of where you’re working out.
