J.R.R. Tolkien has managed to find a place in both literary and cinematographic worlds through his novels The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. To pay tribute to him, a film about his life will be on the silver screen soon.
Director Dome Karukoski finds himself with the daunting task of telling the author’s life. To accompany him in this fabulous adventure, he chose as main actor: Nicholas Hoult. Known for having played Tony in Skins and Beast in X-Men, the young British actor will portray J.R.R. Tolkien. He will be accompanied by Lily Collins, who will play the wife of the author, Edith Bratt.
The film will trace the youth of the writer
The film will tell the most important passages in Tolkien's life, including his time at Oxford and his experiences during the First World War. The author is only 24 when he goes to the front, his only escape being writing. It is thanks to his time in the front that The Hobbit was born and later The Lord of the Rings.
The film on Tolkien is expected to be released on 3rd May in the UK!
