Greggs Has Launched A Vegan Sausage Roll… And People Are Outraged

Beloved British bakery chain Greggs are rolling out a brand new product - the vegan sausage roll - and it's provoked some seriously strong reactions from their loyal customers.

As the new year begins, many of us will be thinking about making changes to our diets - whether it's for health, economic or environmental reasons. More people than ever are expected to take the plunge and go vegan, or at least reduce their intake of meat and dairy products for 'Veganuary' - a pledge to eat vegan for the month of January.

If you're taking part and worried about missing out on some of your favourite treats, we've got some good news for you - as Greggs has just started selling vegan sausage rolls. The delicious-looking pastries are made with no dairy products or eggs and are stuffed with Quorn. What's more, they cost just £1.

Whilst the traditional meaty Greggs sausage roll is still on the menu, many fans of the original sausage roll have taken to Twitter and Instagram to express their outrage at the new product's announcement.
