The colourway of this particular trainer matches the interior of the metro of Germany’s capital. A fake travel card is stitched on the tongue which grants the wearer unlimited travel via public transport for the entire 2018 year. The project is a collaboration between the shoe brand and the Berlin public transport provider BVG in an effort to rebrand the latter and give it a fresher, more modern image.
Considering that an annual pass for public transit in Berlin costs nearly £650 and one pair of these trainers goes for £160, no question that you should pick a pair up. A limited run of 500 pairs have been released at Berlin shop Overkill Sneakers, with people lining up in the cold to cop some. Keep an eye out for resale maybe?
