Cristiano Ronaldo has just proven that you can be a five time Ballon d’Or winner and a normal human being at the same time.
While being interviewed by Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, broadcast on ITV, the Portuguese footballer was overwhelmed by emotion when he saw a video about his father who died of liver cancer in 2005.
‘To be number one and [my father] didn’t see anything, he didn’t see me receiving awards. My whole family sees. My mum, my brothers, even my oldest son… but my father, he didn’t see anything.’ Cristiano Ronaldo
The man who just scored 94 goals for the national team explained that he was sad to know that his father could never see the extent of what he had become.
