Wake up at 8

After waking up at 8 a.m., the founder of Facebook immediately checks Facebook, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp on his phone before he even puts in his contact lenses. Zuckerberg says this review of social media usually only takes a few minutes, but it can take longer depending on what’s in the news that day.

Once he’s caught up on the news of the day, it’s time to exercise. Mark Zuckerberg usually exercises around three times a week. He says:

I try to go for a run or work out, that’s a good way to start the day.

Sometime he even takes his dog with him, Beast, a Hungarian Puli dog. The Facebook CEO says running with his pet has ‘the added bonus of being hilarious because that’s basically like seeing a mop run.’

Once he’s finished with his exercise, Mark Zuckerberg isn’t too picky about what he eats for breakfast and generally just eats what he wants. He doesn’t like to waste his time on small decisions. This is also why he wears the same clothes almost every day. Mark Zuckerberg’s ‘work clothes’ consist of jeans, trainers and a grey T-shirt.

When asked about his wardrobe back in 2014, he admitted that:

I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community.

According to CNBC, his Palo Alto home has a ‘custom-made artificially intelligent assistant.’

Social media addict

Mark Zuckerberg spends 50 to 60 hours a week on Facebook but is constantly thinking about social media. He told CNN:

I spend most of my time thinking about how to connect the world and serve our community better, but a lot of that time isn’t in our office or meeting with people or doing what you’d call real work.

According to The Verge, Mark Zuckerberg gets help managing his own social media accounts. A team of 12 people help him delete inappropriate comments and posts left on his Facebook page.

When he’s not working, Mark Zuckerberg likes to spend his free-time developing his knowledge. He is currently learning Mandarin and tries to read as many books as possible. In 2015, he challenged himself to read a new book every two weeks.

Influential friends

Mark Zuckerberg’s daily schedule tends to vary more when he is travelling.

He often meets with world leaders, such as the Pope in Rome, the President of the United States, in Washington, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron…

And celebrities like his friend Vin Diesel. The two are really good buds and love to have a laugh. Vin Diesel said in 2017:

It's at a point where if Mark and I are together and if I quote a line from a character I played and I do it slightly wrong, he’ll correct me. It’s embarrassing!

Whether he is travelling or working, Mark Zuckerberg makes sure he has time to spend time with his wife, Priscilla Chan, and his daughters, Max and August.

Every evening before going to bed, the Facebook CEO tucks his children into bed with the traditional Jewish prayer, ‘Mi Shebeirach.’
