Mia Khalifa, 25, was born in Beirut, Lebanon and moved to the United States in 2000. She began her career into the porn industry when she was 22 years old. She had more than 1.5 million views on the website Pornhub.

During her interview with Lance Armstrong in her New Forward podcast, Mia stated: 'Everything went out of control when the Islamic State started to threaten me, that's when I withdrew'. In many of the scenes, she was wearing a hijab which is part of the traditional female Muslim cover.
She said 'Looking back, I didn't know what I was thinking...I was 21, and I was stupid. This was not what I was trying to do whatsoever. I just wanted to let loose and rebel a little bit.'
