Tomislav Jurčec’s daily life is rather unusual. ‘Imprisoned’ in the body of a 13-year-old child due to a rare condition, the young man explained that his life is absolutely full of inconveniences because of a problem with his pituitary gland, the gland which controls his rate of growth and ageing.
Buying cigarettes, alcohol, taking the wheel of a car, these are just a few of the things that aren’t so easy for Tomislav to do.
‘If we drink or something like that, people look at the waiter rather strangely, as if to say: ‘How could you give alcohol to a kid?’’, he explained to the Telegraph.
It’s the same when he goes to buy cigarettes. But this doesn’t bother Tomislav.
‘I find that very funny. I like to call that ‘shock and disbelief’ […] I raise my head, I smile, I give my ID and the next thing is: ‘Here are the cigarettes, thank you and goodbye!’’
