Reckon you've heard of cannabis beer before? Well, this one is different. Unlike its predecessors, the novelty developed by Province Brands is directly brewed with cannabis, whilst other beers were merely infused with marijuana.

According to the director of Province Brands, Dooma Wendschuh, a new fermentation technique allowed them to create a beer with a nice taste, which was not necessarily achieved from the beginning with the very first material chosen.

‘Our beer is brewed from the stalks, stem and roots of the cannabis plant. The flavour is dry, savoury, less sweet than a typical beer flavour.’

And another, no less important point: contrary to other edible products derived from cannabis (cakes for example) the beer brewed by the start-up is quick to take effect. On the eve of the legalisation of cannabis in Canada (set for 17th October 2018) the director reckons that he would not have been able to launch this business ‘anywhere else,’ and hopes that his beer will help combat alcoholism as it is alcohol-free.
