On July 19, in Virginia (USA), a woman went out to water her plants in her garden. But things didn't exactly go as planned... In fact, she had an unexpected visitor in her garden: a big black bear! It was about to take a nap in her grandchildren's swimming pool.
Instead of stopping it, the woman decided to sit on a chair to watch it and take pictures. The bear took a nap there for about an hour, until the grandchildren ran outside with the dogs, scaring it away. The grandmother commented on the situation:
He wandered around the backyard… and went over by the pool and dipped his big paw in the water… and then climbed right in and laid down. He seemed so content and refreshed.
Not an isolated incident
This was not the first time the American woman came across a bear. She lives in a secluded area, close to the George Washington National Forest in Fort Valley. For 12 years now, the woman has been taking pictures of wildlife on a regular basis.
She is used to seeing all kinds of animals, such as deer, foxes, and bears walking around her garden. Still, this was the biggest bear she saw this year. The grandmother delighted:
It was neat to see and neat that I had my camera with me to capture it.
