Who would've thought what this farmer stumbled upon ended up being just as rare?
Antonio Nievas is an Argentine farmer who made a strange discovery near his farm; he stumbled upon on a huge black egg about three feet tall. Convinced that it was a dinosaur egg, he contacted scientists to investigate it further. The specialists deduced that the fossil was not a dinosaur egg. It was not an egg at all, but a giant carapace.
It would have belonged to a glyptodon, an animal that looks like an armadillo, which has been extinct for more than 10,000 years.
