Fishermen find a rare 'cyclop' shark while fishing

A group of Indonesian fishermen recently made the discovery of a lifetime in the town of Maluku. Photos of a one-eyed mini shark recently went viral and even experts have commented on the discovery.

Nature never ceases to amaze us, and if you don’t believe us, ask this group of Indonesian fisherman whose photos of their latest catch recently had people on social media going crazy.

The catch of a lifetime

As was reported by various local and international media sources, including The Sun, on 10th October, the fishermen discovered this unusual ‘fish' inside another adult shark that they had caught.

As you can see in the video above, the creature looks to be a one-eyed mini white shark. The specimen was discovered inside the predator when the fishermen had cut it open to gut.

As you can see, the mini shark has only one eye right in the middle of its head. 29-year-old Andy, one of the fisherman who made the discovery, said:

We found three babies inside… but one of them looked strange with only one eye.

A 'cyclop' albino shark

The fisherman reported their finding to the local marine officer and shortly afterwards, they learned that the creature was a ‘cyclops' albino shark, a condition that is caused when an animal produces low amounts of melanin.

Of course, as people on social media have made clear, these fishermen will most likely never see anything like it in their lives. It’s not something you see every day, after all!
